Marine Platforms Progresses To Water Injection On Agbami Phase 3

Marine Platforms, a Nigerian oil service company has secured a significant contract extension from Chevron Star Deepwater Petroleum Limited to carry out the installation of water injection flexible flowlines on the Agbami Field, one of Nigeria\\\’s biggest deepwater water developments. The service scope requires the transportation, installation, and commissioning of flexible water injection flowlines. For this project, Marine Platforms has deployed the deploy the Seven Pacific – a construction flex-lay vessel with 250T AHC crane and 260t top tension vertical lay. Though MPL is to deliver the engineering and project management scope, MPL is in partnership with Nigerstar 7 for the supply of the vessel and installation crew for the flex lay installation. The project commences in late December of 2018 and will be completed in January 2019.

The Chief Executive Officer of Marine Platforms, Taofik Adegbite, said, \\\”This global collaboration lays credence to the fact that foreign companies participating with local companies can create a win-win situation for both parties\\\”. This project is a continuation of the Agbami subsea tieback which commences in 2016 where MPL carried out the transportation, installation, and pre-commissioning (TIP) of flexible flowlines, jumpers, umbilical and Manifold.

Chevron Agbami field is located offshore Nigeria in the central Niger delta approximately 113 km (70 miles) south-southwest of the nearest Nigerian shoreline, and approximately 354 km (220 miles) southeast of the city of Lagos. It lies in water depths ranging from 1280 to 1650 m (4,200 to 5,400 feet)
