𝐋𝐚𝐠𝐨𝐬, 𝐍𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚 – 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 – Marine Platforms Limited is set to welcome the African Pioneer (ex CM Pioneer also known as Ultra Deep Matisse), to its growing offshore fleet. The vessel is currently en route from China and is expected to arrive in Nigeria by June 2025.
Chartered on a long-term bareboat basis, African Pioneer which carries a Nigerian flag will support Marine Platforms’ life-of-field commitments beginning with its deployment on the Chevron Nigeria Agbami field. The vessel will also be available for ad hoc construction and subsea intervention projects across Nigeria and SubSaharan Africa, while seeking strategic opportunities worldwide.
The African Pioneer is a DP3 class twin bell DSV and Multi-Purpose Construction Support Vessel, purpose-built for deepwater operations with high manoeuvrability and station keeping capabilities. She is equipped with a Huisman 400-ton active heave compensated offshore mast crane, 40t AHC auxiliary crane, dual moon pools, and two heavy-duty work-class ROVs launched via dedicated LARS systems. A fully integrated 24-man saturation diving spread rated to 300 meters enhances her capability for complex subsea operations, A fully integrated 24-man saturation diving spread rated to 300 meters enhances her capability for complex subsea operations, with diving activities to be supported under an agreement with Mermaid Subsea Services Limited (MSSL). The vessel also offers a large deck space of 2,150 square meters and accommodates up to 140 personnel, making it an ideal platform for both scheduled and responsive field activities.
