When Marine Platforms was entrusted with the loadout, transportation and installation of Module scope for the FPSO Abigail-Joseph Debottlenecking Project for First E&P and Yinson Production in Nigeria, the mandate was clear: deliver a complex international heavy-lift campaign safely, efficiently and without compromise. At the center of the operation was the heavy-lift vessel Tie Jian 5000, chartered by Marine Platforms Limited (MPL) from DS Global, mobilized to transport modules M5O, MO1, MO9A and MO9B, together with their associated loose items, from China to Nigeria. The assignment demanded far more than lifting capacity; it required disciplined planning, seamless coordination and the confidence to execute at scale.<\/p>\n
The operation began in Zhangjiagang, where the fabricated modules were loaded onto self-propelled cargo barges and transferred to Zhuhai Commercial Port. The centerpiece of the campaign was the 1,700-metric-tonne M5O module. Using self-propelled modular barge, the project team executed its roll-out and completed the sea-fastening required to secure it for the next stage of the journey. At Zhuhai, the modules were lifted aboard Tie Jian 5000 using the vessel\u2019s revolving heavy-lift crane. Every movement was carefully engineered and closely managed, turning a technically demanding transfer into a controlled and coordinated operation.<\/p>\n
Working around the clock, the team completed the transfer, final sea fastening and all essential documentation in less than one week. More than a schedule achievement, this milestone is compelling evidence of Marine Platforms\u2019 ability to coordinate specialist teams, assets and interfaces across international locations while maintaining an uncompromising focus on safety, quality and execution certainty.
