Marine Platforms Successfully Completes Flexible Flowline and SSIV Installation for First E&P

Lagos, Nigeria – December 2023 – Marine Platforms is proud to announce the successful completion of a turnkey offshore project for First Exploration and Petroleum Development Company in the Anyala and Madu fields, located in OML 83 and OML 85, respectively.
First Exploration and Petroleum Development Company, a leading independent exploration and production company in Nigeria, has made significant strides in the oil and gas sector through strategic acquisitions and a strong track record of operational excellence.
The scope of Marine Platforms’ work included Engineering, Transportation, Installation, and Commissioning (ETIC) of an 8” x 1.2 km water discharge flexible flowline, recovery (lift and shift) of existing infrastructure, J-tube pull-in and testing of a wet-stored umbilical power cable, and the installation of a 68MT Subsea Isolation Valve (SSIV).
This remarkable achievement further reinforces Marine Platforms’ reputation as a key player in delivering complex, turnkey oil and gas projects across sub-Saharan Africa. It demonstrates the company’s ability to consistently meet the highest standards of safety, innovation, and technical excellence.
Significantly, the successful execution of this project has enabled an increase of 20,000 barrels per day to Nigeria’s oil production from the Madu field, situated in shallow waters offshore Bayelsa State, in the Niger Delta region.
Commenting on the project, Mr. Taofik Adegbite, CEO of Marine Platforms, stated:
“This project demonstrates the expertise and advanced capabilities Marine Platforms brings to critical offshore operations in Nigeria’s growing oil and gas sector.”
He further added: “Our collaboration with First E&P underscores Marine Platforms’ mission to deliver global standards on local projects, enhancing safety, maximizing production efficiency, and minimizing environmental impact.”
This milestone exemplifies Marine Platforms’ unwavering commitment to supporting Nigeria’s energy sector through innovative solutions, local content development, and best-in-class service delivery.
