Marine Platforms Ltd Achieves Milestone in Chevron’s Agbami Field Project

Marine Platforms Ltd, a leading player in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry, has successfully completed the Agbami WMC Flowline Replacement Project for Chevron. This strategic project involved replacing a damaged water injection flowline with a spare one wet-stored subsea in the Agbami field.

The project required meticulous engineering to select a suitable subsea installation vessel, the McDermott North Ocean 102 (NO102), equipped with the right tensioner and flex lay equipment. Marine Platforms secured all necessary import approvals to mobilize the vessel into Nigeria.

Key Highlights of the Project:

– Seamless Execution: The mobilization, offshore execution, and demobilization of the vessel were completed efficiently, with only a brief delay due to weather conditions for bunkering in Tema Anchorage, Ghana.
– Collaboration and Expertise: The integration of Marine Platforms’ SMEs with McDermott’s NO102 vessel personnel was instrumental in the project’s success, showcasing effective collaboration and expertise.
– Strategic Impact: The project’s completion has enabled the resumption of water injection operations in water injection area C of the Agbami FPSO, a significant achievement for Chevron and Nigeria’s long-term energy strategy.

According to Paul Azanor Project Manager “The embedment and integration of Key Marine Platforms SMEs to the McDermott NO102 vessel personnel was one of the best decisions taken by Marine Platforms Management. The project objective to resume water injection operations in water injection area C of the Agbami FPSO has been achieved, and this achievement is strategic to Chevron and Nigeria in the long term.”

Paul further states “With a proven track record of delivering complex projects, Marine Platforms continues to contribute to Nigeria’s energy sector growth and development”
