Marine Platforms Awarded Chevron Meji Pipeline Installation Contract

Marine Platforms Limited, a Nigerian oil service company has secured a contract from Chevron Nigeria Limited to carry out flexible pipeline installation for the Meji field, one of Nigeria\’s shallow water developments.

The service scope requires the transportation, installation, and commissioning of flexible pipe as a cost-saving alternative to carbon steel pipeline installation for gas, oil and water infrastructure expansion of the Meji field.

One of the vessels to be utilized for this project is the Blueship deck cargo supply vessel. A DP 2 vessel with 1200sqm deck space and 25-man accommodation. Other vessels to be utilized are Nigerian flagged self-elevating work offshore platforms such as the Oil fish and the Inez.

The Meji field is one of Chevron Nigeria Ltd (CNL) producing fields located offshore 20 Km southeast of the Escravos River and 10 km southeast of Okan field. The water depth is shallow at about 40 feet. The Meji offshore field facilities comprise of Meji Production Platform (PP), Meji Riser Platform (RP), and Meji Gas Gathering Compression Platform (GGCP).
