INSPECTION, REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE (IRM) OPERATIONS

DRILL  SUPPORT

As offshore operations in Nigeria move into waters beyond 200m, Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV) operations and services are highly critical to successful drilling operations. Marine Platforms state of the art, high capacity WROVs handled by seasoned ROV personnel are the ideal fit for today’s drilling operational demands.

Supporting rig operations in exploration and production by providing advanced observations, data transmission, survey site, acoustic beacon placement and recovery of dropped objects, wellhead setting, and a host of others are only a few in the wide spectrum of our drill support services.

Tailored to suit our client’s requirements and industry standards, our approach to efficient ROV operations also ensure proficient management of spares and associated tooling.

SUBSEA UMBILICAL, RISER & FLOWLINE INSTALLATION (SURF)

Marine Platforms approaches Subsea Umbilical Riser and Flowline Installation projects with a hands-on attitude. We believe in exceeding our clients’ expectations; thus, our culture encourages highly devoted project teams to all onshore and offshore Subsea operations in order to maximise efficiency and mitigate risks. We make every effort to ensure that high-quality services are delivered safely and on time.

Today we have a growing track record in SURF activities with major oil & gas operators in Nigeria. In 2014, Marine Platforms delivered Transportation, Installation and Pre-commissioning ( TIP) Operation on Nigeria Agip Exploration (NAE) Abo-8 Deepwater Field. It entails Load out, Transportation, Installation and Pre-commissioning of company provided Umbilicals, Flowline and Risers. Similar operations were carried out in 2016 on the Chevron Agbami Phase 3 project.

In September 2018, we were awarded the Meji Field development contract by Chevron to perform Pre-Commissioning Load Out, Transportation, Installation and of Flexible Flowlines. For a duration of 5 months, we chartered the Blue Ship vessel for the Installation and a total of 5 Flexibles were installed.

In very early 2020 we were awarded a Transport & Installation contract for First E & P Nigeria, a fledging operator to develop the Anyala Madu Field.

This Greenfield project required the Transportation of Flexible Flowlines, Umbilicals and Mid Water Arch from Europe to Nigeria, followed by their installation infield. Our scope included piling of the Mid Water Arch prior to the FPSO arrival. After the FPSO was hooked up, we hooked up, we completed the Riser pull-ins and pre-commissioning of all products in readiness for first oil. These were all performed during the height of the global COVID-19 pandemic.

With the ongoing COVID pandemic, we were awarded a prestigious contract by COOEC for the installation of the loading SPM System for the Dangote Refinery project in Lekki Free Zone. The project consists of installing 30 piles and Anchor Chains, Hook Up of the 5 SPM Buoys, Submarine & Floating Hoses, hawser system including the assembly of the hose strings  onshore. Additionally, we installed 8 large diameter spools, and completed a full flooding, cleaning, gauging and hydrotest of the entire Subsea Pipelines connected to the SPM system. We performed this work with a combination of our own assets and chartered vessels for efficient delivery.

PRODUCTION ENHANCEMENT AND DECOMMISSIONING

WELL INTERVENTION

Total Akpo Well Intervention Campaign

Marine Platforms Limited was contracted by TOTAL UPSTREAM NIGERIA LTD (TUPNI) to provide Vessel and Engineering for their AKPO Riser less Well Intervention project in 2018/19. The Scope for this project were as follows:

• Vessel Charter and Crewing –Maersk Inventor
• Design and Fabrication of Installation Aids – Moonpool Grillage and Wireline deployment Tower, Provide Sea fastening Engineering for all equipment deployed on deck and Develop Detailed Operation Procedures and Task Plans.

SNEPCo Bonga Well Intervention Campaign

In Q1 2019, Marine Platforms supported the Subsea Intervention Lubrication system campaign in delivering seven (7) numbers of wells on Bonga field. The project scope involved: Provision of support vessel storage capability in chemical storage, Project Equipment Integration Engineering, IWOCS Deployment Analysis and Onshore & Offshore Project Coordination.

Chevron Acid Injection Campaign

Chevron Stardeepwater contracted Marine Platforms to provide Installation, Repair and Maintenance (IRM) services for Agbami Fields located offshore Bayelsa state, Nigeria. Marine Platforms under the IRM contract was saddled with the responsibility of executing the Well Intervention works scope proposed by Chevron to improve the production of wells.

The Well Intervention campaign utilized MPL’s Infield Intervention Vessel, and an array of equipment set up on the vessel to inject chemicals (cocktails) into the wells via the Christmas Tree about 1500m Subsea. MPL has successfully completed nine (9) campaigns of Acid Well Intervention resulting in improved production of several wells in Agbami Field.

SNEPCo BOOR Recovery Operations

In July 2017, we deployed our vessel, the African Vision alongside MPL developed bespoke engineering solutions for the SNEPCo (Bonga) Oil Offloading Risers (BOOR) Recovery operations. The 4 months project scope included: Project Engineering< Installation Analysis – Engineering, Structural Design, Fabrication and Integration, project Mobilisation, Seabed Section Recovery, FPSO Section Recovery, SPM Section Recovery, Project Equipment Demobilization and Vessel Reinstatement.

WELL SERVICES

WELLBORE CLEAN UP

Well Service operations in Marine Platforms began  in partnership with Well-Flow International for the Provision of Wellbore Clean Out Tools and Chemicals. This is a process of running mechanical tools and Pumping clean out Chemicals to remove unwanted debris as well as metal shavings from the wellbore and displace the well to a clean filtered completion fluid prior to running completion strings.

We have successfully carried out this operation over te years for SNEPCo on the Bonga Field, Exxon Mobil on the Unam, Ubit, Usari, Mfem and Ehra Fields, Total on the Akpo Field and Afren on the Ebok, Okoro and Ekwok Fields. We are currently breaking new frontiers through the deployment of coiled Tubing on our Vessel for Acid Injection Operation. In strategic alliance with OEMs, we offer other services such as:

SURVEY & GEOPHYSICAL SURVEY
